The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sol shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pierce as he jumps to the side.
Sol tries to clinch up.
Pierce scores with a jab to the body.
Julio Sol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sol tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pierce paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sol shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierce but Pierce pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sol fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hawkeye Pierce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Sol.
Nice sprawl there from Pierce as Sol shoots in.
Nice takedown defense from Pierce. No joy for Sol on that attempt.
Sol looks up at the clock. Bad move! Pierce lands a right hand from hell, dropping Sol. Pierce pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
