Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Ruggiero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Beck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Beck's choice of entrance music: Seek and Destroy. John Beck acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benjamin Ruggiero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Beck!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruggiero shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Beck napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ruggiero advances to full mount.
Beck is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ruggiero with shots to the head and body - Beck looks very uncomfortable down there.
Beck keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Beck is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Beck prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Beck wants to hold on but Ruggiero pushes him away.
Beck can't escape the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

It looks like John Beck has been cut.

Ruggiero prevents Beck from getting the reversal.
Beck bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Beck forces his way into half guard.
Ruggiero trying to control but Beck postures up.

Beck looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Beck throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Ruggiero is defending against the submission attempts here by Beck.
Beck thows a huge punch but Ruggiero dodges it nicely.
Ruggiero wants to improve his position but Beck is controlling well.
Ruggiero on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ruggiero tries to get out of the position.

Beck is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ruggiero works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ruggiero controls Beck momentarily but Beck frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Beck slips nicely into half guard.
Ruggiero wants to get back to full guard.

Beck is trying to work for a kimura but Ruggiero is defending well.
Beck not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Beck seems to be looking for submissions.
Ruggiero trying to control but Beck postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beck is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ruggiero sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Beck will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John Beck's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Beck counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Ruggiero.
Ruggiero throws the kick towards the body but Beck avoids it.
Ruggiero tries to clinch but Beck moves away
letting Beck counter with a right hand.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ruggiero fails with an attempt to clinch.
Beck dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ruggiero darts in trying to clinch
and Beck counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Beck thuds a left hand into Ruggiero's body.
Ruggiero tries to close the distance and clinch but Beck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ruggiero stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ruggiero wants it to stay on the feet.
Ruggiero closes the distance but Beck moves to the side
and Beck counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Beck throws a right hand that Ruggiero ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruggiero also avoids with ease.

Ruggiero pushes Beck up against the cage in a clinch.
Ruggiero wants to stall.
Beck jumps guard but Ruggiero stands there with Beck around his waist. Beck gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruggiero throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Beck blocks it with crossed arms.

Beck pulls guard successfully.
Ruggiero wants to control from the top but Beck keeps moving.
Ruggiero postures up in Beck's guard and throws a big left but Beck blocks it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beck is looking to sinch up a triangle. Ruggiero throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Beck's body to avoid the submission. Beck has instead reached around Ruggiero's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Beck arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Beck!
John Beck decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
