Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christian Samuelsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Samuelsson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pretty Fly. Ken Gonzalez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christian Samuelsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ken Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez throws a sloppy head kick and Samuelsson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Samuelsson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Samuelsson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Samuelsson has gone for a leg lock! Gonzalez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Samuelsson's guard. Samuelsson keeping moving, preventing Gonzalez from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ken Gonzalez. Gonzalez misses with a kick to the body and Samuelsson counters with a takedown into side control. Samuelsson blocks the strikes from Gonzalez.
Samuelsson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Samuelsson just content to control the position. Samuelsson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gonzalez has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gonzalez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Samuelsson asserts his dominance and retains side control. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Samuelsson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Samuelsson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gonzalez is trying to stand. Samuelsson wants to take Gonzalez's back but he can't do it this time. Samuelsson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gonzalez manages to avoid the submission attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee asks Samuelsson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Samuelsson prefers to stall for the moment though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gonzalez tries to clinch up and Samuelsson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gonzalez won't be happy with that. Gonzalez is trying to control Samuelsson's posture but Samuelsson avoids it. Gonzalez wants to get back to his feet but Samuelsson is dominant here and he's now got Gonzalez's back! Gonzalez wants to escape the position.
Samuelsson controlling the position well here. Gonzalez rolled but Samuelsson kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Samuelsson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gonzalez knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gonzalez for a finish.

Samuelsson is not going to allow Gonzalez to sit and survive in this position. Samuelsson has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Samuelsson controlling the position easily from mount. Samuelsson with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samuelsson prevents Gonzalez from getting the reversal. Christian Samuelsson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Samuelsson has hold of Gonzalez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gonzalez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Samuelsson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gonzalez is now in Samuelsson's guard. A big mistake from Samuelsson there, giving up the dominant position! Samuelsson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Samuelsson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gonzalez has managed to get both his arms back between Samuelsson's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Samuelsson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gonzalez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gonzalez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gonzalez wants to stand but Samuelsson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Samuelsson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gonzalez is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuelsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gonzalez's waist but Gonzalez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Samuelsson off to one side. Gonzalez fails in his attempt to clinch. Gonzalez throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Samuelsson counters with a takedown into side control. Gonzalez is looking to regain half guard here but Samuelsson keeps moving and retains side control. Gonzalez manages to get back to half guard. Samuelsson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Gonzalez gets back to full guard.
Samuelsson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gonzalez won't allow Samuelsson to pass to mount. Gonzalez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gonzalez actively working from the bottom here. Gonzalez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gonzalez trying to control here.

Still in half guard, Samuelsson seems content to control. Samuelsson wants to pass to mount but Gonzalez is defending the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Christian Samuelsson just wasn't active enough. Samuelsson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzalez to the ground. Samuelsson is now in Gonzalez's guard. Samuelsson looking to pass the guard. Samuelsson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gonzalez being controlled here, momentarily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Christian Samuelsson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Samuelsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
