Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Geezer Lynnot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Geezer Lynnot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lee Rock!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rock gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lynnot to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rock trying to strike off his back.
Lynnot throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lynnot tries to free his leg and advance position but Rock is retaining full guard.
Lynnot is looking to work some ground and pound but Rock has wrist control.
Rock is trying to control the position but Lynnot postures up.

Lynnot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lynnot has managed to get both his arms back between Rock's legs - danger averted.
Lynnot lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lynnot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rock swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rock wants to get back to his feet but Lynnot is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lynnot!
Lynnot regains half guard.

Rock postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lynnot to stand up.

Rock sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Lynnot is trying to control the action in half guard but Rock is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lynnot is looking to advance position but Rock won't allow it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rock is looking for a sweep. Lynnot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lynnot thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lynnot is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Rock tries to get to full guard but Lynnot has control of the leg.
Lynnot with the ground and pound but Rock uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Rock pulls Lynnot in to control the position.
Rock utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rock keeping moving, preventing Lynnot from controlling successfully.
Lynnot won't allow Rock to sweep him here.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Geezer Lynnot wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Rock closes the distance and clinches.

Lynnot gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Lynnot looks to land a strike but Rock avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Rock controls Lynnot momentarily but Lynnot frees himself.
Rock tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rock controlling Lynnot's posture.
Lynnot could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lynnot looking to pass the guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rock is trying to control the position but Lynnot postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lee Rock.
Rock tries to close the distance and clinch but Lynnot swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Geezer Lynnot dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lynnot is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rock!
Geezer Lynnot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lynnot looking to secure an arm triangle but Rock defends it well.
Rock tries to reverse the position but Lynnot maintains control.

Lynnot throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Lynnot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rock is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rock is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lynnot is staying active.
Lynnot throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Rock is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Rock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lynnot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rock decides to stand and escape the position.

Lynnot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Lynnot persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nice strikes from Lynnot there.
Lynnot misses with a head shot. Rock uses the momentum to regain guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rock has momentary wrist control but Lynnot slips an elbow through the middle.

Lynnot working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Lynnot trying to control the position from guard on top but Rock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lynnot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lynnot keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rock's head.

Lynnot drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rock dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lynnot has his foot on Rock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rock works his way back into a safe position though.

Lynnot throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rock uses it to pass to side control.

Rock has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rock shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lynnot is trying to defend but Rock finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lynnot defends it well.

Lynnot is looking for a sweep. Rock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lynnot tries to roll over but Rock keeps him under control.
Lynnot is pressing down on Rock's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rock advances to half guard.
Lynnot is looking to get back to full guard here but Rock has managed to pass to side control instead.
Lynnot managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rock.
Rock advances nicely into full mount.

Rock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Rock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lynnot is trying to reverse the position but instead Rock has taken his back - oops!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rock is trying to stick to Lynnot's back but Lynnot is turning into Rock. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rock's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lynnot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rock uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lee Rock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Geezer Lynnot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rock drives through with a takedown into Lynnot's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

I think Lynnot has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
