Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dele Obasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and De Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dele Obasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, De Clark!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark gets a clinch.
Obasi stalls.
Clark is pushing Obasi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Clark drops down looking for an ankle pick but Obasi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Obasi tries to clinch but Clark is having none of it.
Clark displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Obasi.

Clark shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Clark showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Obasi is breathing heavily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Clark seems to be working for a kimura but Obasi defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Obasi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Clark thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Obasi's head.

Clark is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Obasi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Clark thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Clark seems to be working for a kimura but Obasi defends the submission attempt.
Clark winds up and cracks Obasi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Obasi is trying to control but can't.

Clark is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Clark is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Obasi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Clark lands with a punch from half guard.

Obasi is defending against the submission attempts here by Clark.
Obasi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Clark wants to work for an arm triangle but Obasi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Clark seems to be working for a kimura but Obasi defends the submission attempt.

Clark looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Clark uses his free foot to push down on Obasi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Obasi.

Clark looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clark landing strikes from the mount and Obasi is in trouble!

Clark has hold of Obasi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Obasi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clark looking to secure an arm triangle but Obasi defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

De Clark dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Clark takes the fight into the clinch.
Clark will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Obasi up against the cage.
Obasi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Clark fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Obasi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Clark will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Obasi up against the cage.

Obasi tries to pull guard but Clark holds him up against the cage and eventually Obasi drops back down to his feet.

Dele Obasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of De Clark.

Obasi gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Clark.

Clark works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Clark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Obasi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clark has Obasi in his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Clark is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Clark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Obasi defends it easily.
Clark wants to sweep here but Obasi controlling him for the moment.
De Clark has got the better of the ground game so far.

Clark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Obasi is one step ahead there.
Clark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

De Clark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Clark lands a head shot.

Clark moves into the clinch successfully.
Obasi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Clark pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Obasi is pressed up against the cage. Clark has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Obasi down to the mat. Obasi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Clark instigates a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Obasi throws an elbow but misses.
Clark gets underhooks to prevent Obasi's takedown attempt.
Clark is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Obasi gets tackled into the cage by Clark. Clark maintains the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Clark is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Clark has clasped his hands together around Obasi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

De Clark is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. De Clark was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Clark connects with a solid leg kick.

Clark closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Obasi quickly recovers to half guard.
Clark looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Clark's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clark trying to mount his opponent but Obasi defends it.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Obasi trying to control but Clark postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Clark instigates a clinch.
Clark dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Clark goes for a takedown in the clinch but Obasi prevents it.
Dele Obasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of De Clark.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Obasi misses with a hook to the ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!
De Clark comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Clark has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
