Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raizo Rain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Roach! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roach wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Rain fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Roach looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Rain misses with a wild body shot. Rain wants to clinch. Rain throws a head kick that misses. Raizo Rain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rain throws a right and a left that Roach avoids nicely. Rain fails in his attempt to clinch. Roach throws a hook but Rain avoids it easily. Roach avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Roach throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rain moves into range and clinches up with Roach. Rain connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Frank Roach has been cut. Roach misses with a short punch on the inside. Roach throws a head punch that misses. Roach tries to break free but Rain pushes him back against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rain connects with a nasty looking knee right to Roach's face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rain tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Roach has Rain pressed against the cage, preventing Rain from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Rain prevents a body shot from Roach. Rain is trying to break the clinch but Roach has him pressed against the cage. Roach keeps control of Rain as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Roach tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Rain throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rain breaks the clinch.
Rain clobbers Roach with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Roach circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rain tries to clinch up and Roach decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rain's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Roach slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Roach working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roach lands a decent elbow from side control. Rain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roach on the ground. Roach passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rain! Roach landing strikes from the mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roach cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Roach with good strikes from the mount here! Rain is breathing heavily. Roach cracks Rain with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rain in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Roach dominating with strikes here. Roach with shots to the head and body - Rain looks very uncomfortable down there.
It looks like Raizo Rain has been cut. Roach lands a big shot there that rocks Rain but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Roach controlling the pace for now. Roach fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roach lands with some strikes.
Rain is rocked! Roach drops a big elbow. That's hurt Rain! More shots from Roach and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
