Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John McLachlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peeta Paka Spiduhmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLachlan comes to the cage accompanied by Lostprophets - 4:AM Forever. Spiduhmon has chosen Bob Marley - Three Little Birds as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John McLachlan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peeta Paka Spiduhmon! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from McLachlan. Spiduhmon does a little dance to reset his feet. Jab by McLachlan. A telegraphed right hand from McLachlan misses the target. A head kick misses from Spiduhmon. Spiduhmon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spiduhmon throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Nice straight punches there by McLachlan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McLachlan. McLachlan throws a looping overhand right but Spiduhmon ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLachlan misses the shot to the body. Peeta Paka Spiduhmon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McLachlan blocks a head kick by Spiduhmon.
McLachlan misses with an uppercut. Spiduhmon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. An inside leg kick lands from Spiduhmon. McLachlan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Spiduhmon throws out the jab. Spiduhmon throws a head kick that half lands.
McLachlan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Spiduhmon loads up on a big right hand but McLachlan slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLachlan looks to score with a jab to the body but Spiduhmon is just out of range. Spiduhmon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McLachlan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Spiduhmon quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McLachlan working over Spiduhmon with some ground and pound. Spiduhmon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. McLachlan controlling the pace. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spiduhmon can do anything to dispel that myth. Spiduhmon trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McLachlan scores with a couple of good hammerfists. McLachlan stops Spiduhmon from getting back to his feet.
McLachlan slips a nice elbow through Spiduhmon's hands, connecting with Spiduhmon's forehead. McLachlan performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McLachlan missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McLachlan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Spiduhmon's head. McLachlan controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLachlan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. McLachlan winds up and cracks Spiduhmon with a swinging punch to the side of the head. McLachlan is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McLachlan prevents Spiduhmon from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spiduhmon wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John McLachlan will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Spiduhmon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spiduhmon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. McLachlan slips a straight right by Spiduhmon. McLachlan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Spiduhmon's guard. Spiduhmon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
McLachlan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. McLachlan postures up and lands a big shot to Spiduhmon's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLachlan passes Spiduhmon's left leg - he's now in half guard. McLachlan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. McLachlan slips a nice elbow through Spiduhmon's hands, connecting with Spiduhmon's forehead. McLachlan scoring with strikes to the body and head. Spiduhmon is looking to control McLachlan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Spiduhmon avoid being mounted? Spiduhmon is looking for a sweep. McLachlan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McLachlan moves nicely into side control. Spiduhmon takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spiduhmon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McLachlan scoring with punches from side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spiduhmon is looking for a sweep. McLachlan scoring with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLachlan takes a little break here. Spiduhmon wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. McLachlan working the body and head with strikes. McLachlan working away. McLachlan working the ground and pound. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Check out the look on McLachlan's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiduhmon tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McLachlan taking a breather here. McLachlan advances to mount. McLachlan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Spiduhmon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Spiduhmon is in a horrible position here. McLachlan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McLachlan lands a nice shot to the head. McLachlan controlling the position easily from mount. McLachlan breaks from Spiduhmon's wrist control and lands an elbow. McLachlan is landing with some decent strikes but Spiduhmon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Spiduhmon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Spiduhmon is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McLachlan looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Spiduhmon covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
