Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 31 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Javier Cabollaro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damian Rentz! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabollaro fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rentz is out of range. Rentz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Rentz closes the distance and clinches up with Cabollaro, looking for a takedown. Rentz pushes Cabollaro against the ropes but Cabollaro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cabollaro lands a really nice looking cross but Rentz seems unphased.
Cabollaro clinches up with Rentz and pushes him back against the ropes. Rentz avoiding damage as Cabollaro throws knees to the body.
Cabollaro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cabollaro instigates a clinch. Cabollaro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cabollaro clinches with his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cabollaro creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Rentz's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Cabollaro lands with a left to the head. Cabollaro lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Rentz is rocked! Cabollaro manages to break the clinch.
Rentz is still on wobbly legs! Can Cabollaro finish him? Cabollaro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rentz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Cabollaro closes the distance and clinches. Cabollaro with a knee to the head.
Rentz blocks the elbow strike.
Cabollaro makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabollaro creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Rentz's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Rentz drops to his knees and Cabollaro pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Javier Cabollaro!
