PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moscow Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Black's choice of entrance music: Sektor Gaza - Dopilsya. Walker has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Moscow Black is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side.
Black uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Walker has time to react.
Walker is breathing heavily.

Walker feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Walker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Black has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Walker won't allow Black to get back to his feet.
Black wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Moscow Black wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nice sprawl there from Walker as Black shoots in.

Black defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.

Black shoots in but no luck this time.

Black fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Walker.
Black goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Black rushes Walker and presses him up against the cage.
Black scores with a nice hook to the head.

Black drags the fight down to the ground.

Black is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Walker off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Black rushes Walker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Black lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Walker backwards.
Black slows down the pace here.
Black jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Walker walks away with a smile on his face. Black gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Walker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Walker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Black avoids it really well and circles away.
Walker stuffs the takedown.
Black fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Moscow Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Black circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Walker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Walker's corner calls for a 1-2. Walker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Walker has taken the fight to the clinch.

A left and a right from Walker both land. Nice combination.

Walker gets tackled into the cage by Black. Black maintains the clinch.
Walker has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Black avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walker slaps away a takedown attempt from Black, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Walker tries a head kick but it misses.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Black shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Black darts in and clinches Walker up against the cage.
Walker tries to break the clinch but Black is controlling the position.

Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Black shoots for a takedown but Walker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Black shoots in but no luck this time.

Nice takedown defense from Black. No joy for Walker on that attempt.
Black scores with a nice body kick.
Black fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Black lands an overhand right.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Black.

Walker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Black's guard.

Black can't keep his opponent in guard - Walker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker wants to work for an arm triangle but Black is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Black wants to get back to full guard.

Black pushes Walker off and gets back to his feet.
Walker blocks a head kick by Black.

Walker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Moscow Black is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andre Walker.
I think Black has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
