The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dixon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Royale is fending him off so far but Dixon persists. Nope, Royale circles away and we're back to standing. Dixon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Royale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dixon has hold of Royale's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Royale seems comfortable defending it but Dixon has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Royale is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Royale is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dixon couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Daryl Dixon!
