PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ceaser El Toro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Toro comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls On Parade. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ceaser El Toro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Headden misses with a body shot.
Headden dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Headden tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but El Toro paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Headden shoots in and gets a takedown into El Toro's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Headden stopping the sweep attempt from El Toro.
El Toro is working hard here to advance position.
El Toro pulls Headden in close to his closed guard and prevents Headden from doing any damage or advancing position.
Headden is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Headden won't allow El Toro to sweep him here.
Headden trying to control the position from guard on top but El Toro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Headden is working El Toro over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Headden thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Headden loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

El Toro keeping full guard, as Headden tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Headden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as El Toro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El Toro has his hands on Headden's head, controlling the position.
El Toro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Headden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but El Toro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Headden has El Toro in his guard.

Headden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
El Toro wants to control from the top but Headden keeps moving.
Headden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ceaser El Toro wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Headden connects with a single shot there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
El Toro throws an off balance right hand
and Headden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Headden clobbers El Toro with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Oooooh!!! El Toro has knocked Headden down with a huge combo! El Toro steps away and waves a wobbly Headden back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Headden is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Headden slips a straight right by El Toro.
El Toro throws a right and a left that Headden avoids nicely.
El Toro misses with a right hand

and Headden counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends El Toro down! Headden is looking to finish but El Toro is intelligently defending himself.
Headden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Headden working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of El Toro's head.
Headden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Headden trying to control the position from guard on top but El Toro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

El Toro has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Headden won't allow El Toro to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now El Toro is on top in guard.
Headden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
El Toro controlling from the top position.
El Toro tries to stand but Headden is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Headden keeping moving, preventing El Toro from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Headden dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


El Toro rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Headden makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Headden slips a jab from El Toro.
El Toro misses with a hook. Headden ducked under it nicely.
El Toro scores with a nice body kick.
El Toro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Headden connects with an inside leg kick.
Headden pivots, looking for a leg kick but El Toro is out of range and Headden settles back down.
Headden takes one on the button.
El Toro just misses with a punch to the body.

Headden has taken the fight to the clinch.

El Toro tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Headden creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Headden misses with a hook to the ribs.
Headden throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
El Toro is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Headden's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Headden scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Headden misses with some punches.
Headden is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
El Toro makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Headden tries to score a body lock takedown but El Toro shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ceaser El Toro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Headden.

El Toro swings away with an uppercut that misses.
El Toro throws a punch but it's blocked by Headden.

A slow jab from El Toro misses its intended target.
El Toro throws out a loose jab but Headden uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steve Headden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
El Toro circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Headden tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! El Toro wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ceaser El Toro!
