Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Arts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francois Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Francois Faber was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marshall Arts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Francois Faber!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Faber circles away.
Arts misses with a jab, cross combination.
Faber scores with a hook.
Arts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Arts closes the distance and clinches up with Faber, looking for a takedown. Arts pushes Faber against the cage but Faber circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Faber throws a front kick that sends Arts stumbling back into the cage.
Arts shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Faber pinned against the cage. Faber gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marshall Arts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Arts has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Faber.
Marshall Arts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Faber lands a leg kick that knocks Arts off balance momentarily.
Arts shoots in for a takedown but Faber shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Arts tries to clinch up but Faber circles away and keeps his distance.

Faber with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Arts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Faber sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Arts somewhat.
Faber fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arts misses with a lunging right hand
and Faber counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Arts is breathing heavily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Faber.
Faber throws a head kick that Arts semi-blocks.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Arts.

An inside leg kick lands from Faber.
Faber feints and then cracks Arts's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Arts down.
Faber stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Faber wants it to stay on the feet.

Faber clinches up against the cage.
Faber throws an elbow but it misses.
Faber is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Arts is defending well for now.
Faber misses with an elbow over the top.
Faber lands with a left to the head.
Arts blocks an elbow strike from Faber.
Arts blocks the elbow strike.
Arts has had enough of the clinch but Faber keeps him there for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters up against the cage, Faber throws an elbow but misses.
Arts managing to block the knees to the body from Faber.
Faber throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Faber misses with an elbow strike.
Faber missing with knees to the body.
Faber gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Arts.
Faber is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Faber pushes off an throws an elbow but Arts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arts jumps guard but Faber turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A head punch on the inside from Faber fails to land.
Arts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Faber walks away with a smile on his face. Arts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Faber lands with an uppercut that bounces Arts off the cage and back into range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Francois Faber dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Faber moves into range and clinches up with Arts.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Faber just misses with a elbow thrown towards Arts's brow.
Arts is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Arts avoids a wild elbow strike from Faber.
Arts jumps guard but Faber stands there with Arts around his waist. Arts gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Arts gets control of Faber's arms and successfully pulls guard. Arts will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Arts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arts tries to get out of the position.

Arts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Faber doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Faber manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Arts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Arts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Faber is one step ahead there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Arts blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Faber misses with some punches.
Arts has had enough of the clinch but Faber keeps him there for the moment.
Faber throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Arts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Faber tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Arts manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Faber darts in and clinches Arts up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Faber.
Faber tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Arts avoids it.
Arts is trying to pull guard but Faber has him pressed against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Faber just misses with a elbow thrown towards Arts's brow.
Faber has Arts pressed against the cage, preventing Arts from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Faber pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Arts manages to pull guard.

Arts chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Faber can pounce on him.

Francois Faber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Arts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Arts dives in and grabs Faber's left leg, looking for a takedown. Faber pushes down on Arts's head and hops out.
Arts shoots in looking for a takedown. Faber tries to sprawl out of it but Arts keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Faber manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Francois Faber seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Arts on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Faber tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Marshall Arts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Faber avoids the head kick by Arts.
Faber lands with a thumping leg kick.
Arts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Faber swivels and escapes.

Arts looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Faber is looking to slow Arts down with leg kicks.
Arts tries to clinch up
and Faber counters with a straight right hand.
Arts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Faber misses with an uppercut.
Arts throws a sloppy head kick and Faber moves out of range easily.

Arts blocks an elbow strike from Faber.

Arts is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Faber gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Arts is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Faber pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Arts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Faber walks away with a smile on his face. Arts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Faber buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Faber throws a head kick that misses.
Faber tries to clinch there but Arts circles away.
Faber tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Arts takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Faber stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Faber wants it to stay on the feet.
Faber cracks the inside of Arts's front leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Faber throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Faber has managed to clinch.
Faber misses with an elbow strike.
Faber lands an elbow just above Arts 's eye.

Arts breaks the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arts on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Faber. Faber obviously looking to wear him down.
Arts moves out of range of the strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Francois Faber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Faber winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
