Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Velandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ariel Piechocki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piechocki has chosen Gladiator as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ariel Piechocki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ariel Piechocki!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piechocki scores with a takedown into Velandez's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Velandez is working an open guard so Piechocki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Velandez fails with the takedown

so Piechocki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Velandez keeping moving, preventing Piechocki from controlling successfully.
Velandez wants to get back to his feet but Piechocki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Piechocki lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Piechocki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Piechocki stands up and waves to Velandez to follow him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Velandez enables Piechocki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Velandez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Piechocki prevents Velandez from getting back to his feet.

Piechocki drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Piechocki seems to have locked his on tight now - Velandez screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Piechocki, as he picks up the win!
