PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Bratts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clinical Cpw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cpw has chosen Purple Rain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cpw slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bratts tests Cpw's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Clinical Cpw has been cut.

Cpw swats away the attempt to clinch by Bratts.

Bratts shoots in and drives through. Cpw sprawls well.

Cpw throws a looping overhand right but Bratts ducks down to avoid it.
Bratts throws a shot from downtown. Cpw moves away and avoids it.

Bratts takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Cpw on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Bratts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cpw's waist but Cpw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bratts off to one side.

Cpw lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bratts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cpw as he jumps to the side.

Bratts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cpw swivels and escapes.

Nice uppercut lands for Cpw. That snapped Bratts's head back.

Cpw tries to keep at a distance but Bratts has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cpw lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Cpw is pushing Bratts up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Cpw is looking to break free of the clinch but Bratts has double underhooks.
Bratts lands with a left to the head.
Cpw blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Cpw throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The referee is keeping an eye on Bratts - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Cpw lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bratts backwards.

Cpw has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bratts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cpw sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

enabling Cpw to counter with a crisp jab.
Cpw paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clinical Cpw dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Clinical Cpw's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bratts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cpw is trying to defend but Bratts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bratts thows a huge punch but Cpw dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cpw makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Cpw throws the left hand but Bratts avoids the punch easily.
Cpw misses with a straight right.
Bratts throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Clinical Cpw seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Bratts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cpw won't be happy with that.
Cpw prevents Bratts from improving position.
Cpw is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Bratts is trying to move to mount but Cpw reverses beautifully and ends up in Bratts's guard.
Cpw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bratts has his foot on Cpw's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cpw works his way back into a safe position though.
Cpw wants to stand and escape but instead Bratts has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bratts has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cpw off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Bratts comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Cpw counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bratts walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bratts has a takedown stuffed.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cpw, as that shot connected.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
