Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akio Osamu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Mir! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mir has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mir is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Mir ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mir no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Osamu looking to sit in guard and control but Mir gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mir trying to control but Osamu is working from the bottom. Osamu wants to sweep but no luck. Osamu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mir stays in close to Osamu's body and controls the position. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Osamu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Osamu trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Osamu is retaining full guard. Osamu looking for a sweep. Not yet Osamu, not yet. Mir postures up.
Osamu keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Osamu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mir trying to stand up but can't free himself from Osamu's guard. Osamu looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Osamu throws a right and a left that both miss. Osamu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mir moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Osamu just misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Osamu gets the takedown into side control. Osamu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mir is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Osamu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Osamu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir struggling a bit here. Osamu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mir, who protects the arm well. Mir taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir can't do much from the bottom here. Osamu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mir might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Osamu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Osamu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mir, who protects the arm well. Mir sneaks back into half guard. Mir keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mir looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Osamu working Mir over with strikes. Osamu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akio Osamu dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mir with a lazy takedown attempt and Osamu counters with a takedown into side control. Mir is trying to control Osamu's posture but Osamu avoids it. Osamu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mir keeps working. Osamu working the ground and pound but Mir is defending the strikes. Osamu tries for a kimura but Mir is defending well. Osamu trying to control the position but Mir is working away. Osamu tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mir's legs.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Osamu missing with a left hand there. Mir was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Osamu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Osamu is looking for a kimura but Mir is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Osamu to get the leverage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mir tries to get to full guard but Osamu has control of the leg. Mir trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Osamu's guard. Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Osamu is retaining full guard. Mir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Osamu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Osamu has his foot on Mir's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mir works his way back into a safe position though. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Osamu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Osamu working a defensive guard here.
Mir stands up over Osamu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mir throws and elbow that misses. Osamu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mir's guard. Nice move by Osamu! Mir manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Osamu manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Osamu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Osamu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Osamu lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mir! Osamu in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Mir takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Osamu jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mir is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mir and Osamu has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Mir tries to bench press Osamu off him but Osamu keeps the position. Osamu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mir is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mir manages to work his way to half guard, despite Osamu's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akio Osamu dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Osamu throws a body punch but Mir moves out of range. Mir tries for a takedown but Osamu circles away easily and Osamu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mir won't be happy with that. Mir pushes Osamu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Osamu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Osamu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Osamu throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Osamu looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mir is not content to let Osamu control the position. Mir manages to get back to half guard. Osamu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mir wants to get back to his feet.
Osamu moves nicely into side control. Osamu advances to full mount. Osamu looking to control but Mir is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Osamu goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mir is on top in guard.
Mir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Osamu had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mir is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Osamu Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mir's back instead. Mir wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mir wants to escape the position.
Mir wants to control his opponent's hands but Osamu gets his hands free. Osamu cracks Mir with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Mir from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Mir is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Osamu throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Osamu avoiding Mir 's attempts to control his hands. Osamu is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
George Mir has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Osamu is trying to stick to Mir's back but Mir is turning into Osamu. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Osamu's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mir.
And that's the end of the fight! Akio Osamu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Osamu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
