The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rogers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers is looking to work some ground and pound but Marbut has wrist control.
Marbut seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Rogers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marbut's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Philliip Marbut just wasn't active enough.
Marbut fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rogers, pushing him back against the cage.
Marbut is looking for a takedown.
Marbut gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rogers.
Rogers tries for a takedown but Marbut manages to get underhooks.

Marbut really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
