Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soujiro Arashikage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Reno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Soujiro Arashikage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Reno! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arashikage tries a head kick but it misses.
Reno throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Arashikage sees it coming and avoids it easily. Arashikage is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Arashikage misses with a head kick.
Arashikage tries to clinch and Reno counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Arashikage tries to clinch up. Reno shoots for a double leg takedown but Arashikage sprawls well. He's pushed Reno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Reno scores with a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reno is trying hard to land a takedown here. Arashikage sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Arashikage tries to clinch but Reno is having none of it. Reno blocks a head kick by Arashikage.
Arashikage darts in and clinches Reno up against the cage. Arashikage tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Soujiro Arashikage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Reno. Reno drops down looking for an ankle pick but Arashikage pulls his leg out and moves away.
Reno shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Arashikage but Arashikage pushes him off and we're back to square one. Arashikage closes the distance looking to clinch and Reno counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Arashikage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arashikage lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Reno shoots in looking for a takedown but Arashikage manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reno's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Arashikage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Arashikage moves in looking to clinch but Reno pushes him off. Reno keeps the fight on the outside. Arashikage tries to clinch but Reno is having none of it. Arashikage tries a head kick but it misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reno takes a kick to the side of the head. Reno tests Arashikage's chin there with a solid looking shot. Arashikage tries a head kick but it misses.
Arashikage fails in his attempt to clinch. Arashikage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Reno avoids the head kick by Arashikage.

Reno must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Reno trying to control but Arashikage is working from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Arashikage scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Reno lands a head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reno will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Horrible takedown by Reno or perhaps it was just good defense by Arashikage which made him look bad. Arashikage takes the fight into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Arashikage throws a knee to the head but misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Arashikage connects with a knee to the head.

Soujiro Arashikage dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arashikage looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Soujiro Arashikage is winning the standup battle so far. Reno fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Arashikage. Reno shrugs it off though. Arashikage pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reno tries for a takedown but Arashikage sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Arashikage doesn't manage to clinch there - Reno circles away.

Arashikage has Reno pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Reno is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Arashikage - that's hurt Reno badly! Oh, another knee lands and Reno is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Reno doesn't seem to be complaining.
