Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lotlot Merchant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthew Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lotlot Merchant! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Merchant is looking to clinch but Walker is avoiding it.
Walker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Merchant. Walker fails with the takedown. Walker throws a half hearted mid kick. Walker has a takedown stuffed. Lotlot Merchant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walker drives through and clinches with Merchant against the cage.
Merchant blocks an elbow strike from Walker.
Walker pulls guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Merchant with a flurry of punches that miss. Walker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Merchant must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Merchant won't allow Walker to sweep him here. Merchant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Walker trying to control the position here. Merchant throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker controlling Merchant's posture. Walker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Merchant tries to free his leg and advance position but Walker is retaining full guard. Merchant trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Walker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walker blocks a head kick by Merchant.
Walker fails to land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Merchant dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Merchant looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Walker dives in and grabs Merchant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Merchant pushes down on Walker's head and hops out. Merchant throws a lazy uppercut
and Walker counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Walker avoids a kick to the body.
Merchant fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Merchant is defended easily by Walker. Walker throws an off balance right hand
and Merchant cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Merchant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Merchant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. An inside leg kick from Merchant misses. Merchant tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Merchant misses with a few strikes there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Merchant throws a leg kick but Walker moved away. Walker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Merchant. Walker instigates a clinch. Walker tries for a takedown. No joy.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Merchant misses with a takedown attempt - Walker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Merchant misses with a hook. Walker shoots in and bounces Merchant off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Merchant is looking for a triangle but Walker pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Merchant is looking for a triangle here but Walker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Walker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Walker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Merchant tries to bench press Walker off him but Walker keeps the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Walker decides to stand back up. Walker steps back and let's Merchant get back to his feet. Walker dips down and scores with a jab to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Walker dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Merchant shoots in but no luck this time. Merchant stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet. Merchant swinging wildly here.
A jab from Walker finds it's way through Merchant's defenses. Walker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Merchant sprawls well. Merchant wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walker gets slowly back to his feet. Walker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Merchant as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Merchant, pushing him back against the cage. Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Matthew Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Some wild striking there from Merchant.

That's one minute gone in the round. Merchant throws a series of punches but Walker moves out of range. Walker keeps the fight on the outside. Lotlot Merchant seems to be getting the better of the standup. Merchant looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Walker is fending him off so far but Merchant persists. Nope, Walker circles away and we're back to standing. Merchant fails to land the takedown. Merchant with a jab. Walker throws a head kick but Merchant moves out of range.

Walker dives in and scores a takedown into Merchant's guard. Merchant throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Walker escapes and throws Merchant's legs to the side, diving into side control! Merchant is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Merchant lands a slapping body shot.
Merchant gets tackled into the cage by Walker. Walker maintains the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Walker has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Merchant uses from the top position. Walker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Merchant! Walker controlling his opponent. Merchant is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Merchant is working to get back to half guard.
Merchant slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Walker stands up out of the half guard. Merchant misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Walker avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Merchant cracks Walker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Merchant tries to clinch but fails miserably so Walker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walker controls from within his opponent's guard. Merchant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Merchant is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Walker showing good wrestling skills to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Walker dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

No luck for Merchant with that takedown attempt. Walker takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Merchant shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Merchant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Walker avoids it really well and circles away. Matthew Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lotlot Merchant. Horrible takedown by Walker or perhaps it was just good defense by Merchant which made him look bad. Walker showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Merchant.
That's one minute gone in the round. Merchant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Merchant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Merchant takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Walker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Merchant misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Walker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Merchant up against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Walker as Merchant tries to tie him up. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Walker breaks from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walker fails with a takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Merchant is trying to force a seperation but Walker has the dominant position. Walker pushes off an throws an elbow but Merchant leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Walker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Merchant pulls his leg out and moves away.
Walker throws a leg kick but Merchant sees it coming and moves out of range. Merchant will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Merchant misses the jab. Merchant misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walker.
Merchant shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Merchant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Walker throws a head kick but Merchant moves out of range.
Merchant tries to clinch but Walker is having none of it. Merchant fails to land with a series of punches.
Walker closes the distance and clinches. Walker tries to land a knee to the head but Merchant blocks with his arms.

Merchant is defending well against a takedown attempt. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Merchant is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Walker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Walker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Merchant avoids it really well and circles away. Merchant tries to keep at a distance but Walker has taken the fight into the clinch. Merchant is trying to break the clinch but Walker has him pressed against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walker wants to take the fight to the mat but Merchant manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Merchant throws an elbow but misses. Lotlot Merchant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matthew Walker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Merchant misses with some punches.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthew Walker. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Walker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
