Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Mak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddy Mak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luiz Soto! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soto misses the shot to the body. Soto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mak counters with a stiff right hand. Soto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Soto lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mak is in trouble now - Soto has advanced to mount! Mak is working to get back to half guard.
Mak slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Mak wants to improve his position but Soto is controlling well.
Mak trying to control but Soto postures up.
Soto wants to work for an arm triangle but Mak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mak regains full guard. Nicely done. Soto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mak tries to land a sweep but no joy. Soto trying to control the position from guard on top but Mak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Soto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mak keeping moving, preventing Soto from controlling successfully. Soto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mak is looking to regain half guard here but Soto keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mak, who protects the arm well. Mak is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Soto trying to control the action but Mak is working from the bottom. Mak is trying to improve his position. Mak gets back to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Soto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Soto.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mak is trying to control but can't.
Mak is trying to get back to full guard. Soto is working for a kimura but Mak is defending it quite comfortably.
Mak is trying to maintain the position but Soto is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soto is controlling the pace.
Soto is pressing down on Mak's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mak is holding on for now. Mak is looking for a sweep. Soto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Luiz Soto will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Soto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Mak tries to get to full guard but Soto has control of the leg. Mak is working hard here to advance position. Soto seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mak looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Soto moves into full mount! Mak won't be happy about that! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mak is working to get back to half guard.
Soto looking to control and managing it successfully. Mak sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Mak wants to improve his position but Soto is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soto performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Soto is looking for a kimura here.
Mak is looking to control Soto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mak avoid being mounted? Ground and pound from Soto. Mak is looking for a sweep. Soto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Soto is trying to work for a kimura but Mak is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mak wants to control but Soto is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mak manages to get to full guard.
Soto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Soto wants to control from the top but Mak keeps moving. Soto tries to free his leg and advance position but Mak is retaining full guard. Mak is looking for a triangle but Soto pushes his legs off easily.
Mak looking for a sweep. Not yet Mak, not yet. Soto postures up.
Soto forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mak is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Soto pulls his head out easily. Soto looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Soto thows a huge punch but Mak dodges it nicely.
Mak looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Soto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Soto is pressing down on Mak's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mak is holding on for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Soto seems to be looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mak is trying to get back to full guard. Soto is working for a submission of some sort.

A close second round but Luiz Soto will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Soto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mak looks for a takedown but Soto sprawls well. Mak stuffs the takedown attempt from Soto. Soto gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Soto. No joy for Mak on that attempt. Mak fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddy Mak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto doesn't manage to clinch there - Mak circles away.
Mak looks to score with a jab to the body but Soto is just out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Soto looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mak stuffs the takedown. Mak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Soto avoids it really well and circles away. Soto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mak backs up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soto shoots for a double leg takedown but Mak sprawls well. He's pushed Soto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Soto swings for the body but Mak moves out of range.
Luiz Soto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mak slips a straight right by Soto. Soto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice takedown defense from Mak. No joy for Soto on that attempt. Mak misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Soto.
Soto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mak moves away. Nice sprawl there from Soto as Mak shoots in. Soto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Soto takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mak dives in and grabs Soto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Soto pushes down on Mak's head and hops out. Soto doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mak counters with a nice double leg into guard. Soto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mak. Soto looking to control.
Mak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Soto's guard. Soto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mak's back! Soto gets his hands free as Mak looks to control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. You can see the frustration on Mak's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soto lands shots from the back. Soto has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mak has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Soto is trying to stick to Mak's back but Mak is turning into Soto. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Soto's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mak. Luiz Soto is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mak trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Soto pushes a forearm under Mak's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mak is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
