Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Issacs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Merlin Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
Issacs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Issacs drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones keeping full guard, as Issacs tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones looking to control.
Issacs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Issacs is looking for a kimura here.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Issacs trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it.
Issacs wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Issacs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Issacs.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Issacs is breathing heavily.
Issacs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Issacs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Issacs is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Issacs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Issacs shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Issacs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Issacs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Issacs has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Issacs has hold of Jones's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jones manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Issacs misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Jones wants to hold on but Issacs pushes him away.

Jones tries to kick Issacs off but Issacs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Issacs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Issacs is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Jones is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Issacs is surviving well by controlling Jones's body position as best he can.

A right handed body shot lands from Jones.
Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Issacs gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Issacs pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Issacs swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jones is now in Issacs's guard. A big mistake from Issacs there, giving up the dominant position!
Issacs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Issacs, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
