Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tadayoshi Ishimaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ishimaru's choice of entrance music: Break. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tadayoshi Ishimaru! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Ishimaru. An inside leg kick from James misses. Ishimaru misses with a looping left. The crowd cheers as Ishimaru lands an impressive looking overhand right. James doesn't seem phased though. Frank James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ishimaru misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from James.

James doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sloppy strikes from James. Those never looked like landing. James blocks a jab. Ishimaru jabbing away but nothing is landing. James fails to land the takedown. James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ishimaru lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and James has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from James and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Ishimaru fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches James on the side of the head. James misses with a hook. Ishimaru ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ishimaru throws a chopping leg kick but James manages to avoid taking any serious damage. James checks a low kick from Ishimaru. Ishimaru slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ishimaru finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. James shoots in for a takedown but Ishimaru shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ishimaru misses the shot to the body. Nice shot by Ishimaru. Ishimaru throws a body punch but James moves out of range. Ishimaru cracks James with a good jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Some wild striking there from Ishimaru.

James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ishimaru misses with a looping left. Ishimaru throws a right and a left that both miss. James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. James goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ishimaru. James misses with a hook. James fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ishimaru scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ishimaru.
A good leg kick by James. James attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Ishimaru uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react. Ishimaru walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. James checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ishimaru is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! James had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Ishimaru throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot. James slips a straight right by Ishimaru.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ishimaru throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. James keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Ishimaru fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Ishimaru pivots, looking for a leg kick but James is out of range and Ishimaru settles back down. Ishimaru throws a jab when James was well out of range. Ishimaru avoids the head kick by James.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tadayoshi Ishimaru dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from James. Ishimaru looks to land a right hand but James moved out of range. James throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ishimaru's jab looks to have found its range, popping James under the eye. James swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and James takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ishimaru lands with a nice body punch. James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ishimaru sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat. James tries to bum rush Ishimaru with a series of wild strikes but Ishimaru uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fighters circling - Ishimaru throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tadayoshi Ishimaru showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ishimaru circles away. Ishimaru throws a solid leg kick but James takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ishimaru. James tried to score with a low kick but Ishimaru checks it. James checks the leg kick nicely there.

The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ishimaru. James fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ishimaru is out of range. Ishimaru dips down and scores with a jab to the body. James bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ishimaru's head backwards. James misses with a two punch combination.

Ishimaru shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ishimaru defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James. James takes a shot right to the bread basket. Ishimaru with a nice cross. James throws a leg kick but Ishimaru checks it. James clobbers Ishimaru with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Ishimaru punishes James's body with a nice straight punch. Ishimaru with a nice cross. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ishimaru moves away. James is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. A head kick misses from James. James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ishimaru to score with a decent uppercut. Ishimaru paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. James throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ishimaru throws a low kick but James moves out of range easily. James fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ishimaru is out of range. James throws a wild body kick that Ishimaru sees coming a mile off. Ishimaru looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. James throws a shot from downtown. Ishimaru moves away and avoids it. Ishimaru thuds a left hand into James's body. Ishimaru misses with the combination.

He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. James throws a right and a left that Ishimaru avoids nicely. Ishimaru throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A right-left combo lands from Ishimaru. Frank James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ishimaru smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Ishimaru misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from James.

Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ishimaru is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. James trying to control but Ishimaru is having none of it. James misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Tadayoshi Ishimaru. I've got Ishimaru winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
