1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zevran Arishok! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arishok defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Palhares. Palhares gets tackled into the cage by Arishok. Arishok maintains the clinch. Palhares has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Arishok avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Arishok breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Arishok. No joy for Palhares on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Palhares. That's going to take a lot out of him. Palhares keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Arishok scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Antonio Palhares has been cut. Palhares bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Palhares is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arishok has escaped the position, nice work there. Arishok wants to get back to his feet. Palhares tries for a kimura but Arishok is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arishok can do anything to dispel that myth. Arishok is controlling Palhares's trapped leg to prevent Palhares from advancing to side control. Palhares seems to be looking for submissions.
Arishok is not content to let Palhares control the position. Arishok is looking to escape. Palhares is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Arishok has his hands clasped together around Palhares's back. He's all about the action. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Palhares is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arishok doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Palhares. Palhares looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Palhares is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Arishok defends it well. Arishok keeping control of the position. Arishok tries to get to full guard but Palhares has control of the leg.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zevran Arishok wasn't active enough on the ground. Arishok connects with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Palhares is trying hard to land a takedown here. Arishok sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Arishok scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Donk. Arishok catches Palhares right on the button with a cross. Arishok sends Palhares crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Arishok is motioning to the referee to let Palhares up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zevran Arishok dominated that round. The cut man is working on Antonio Palhares's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Palhares is aggressively charging in as Arishok backs up avoiding any damage. Arishok tosses out a jab and Palhares runs right into it face first! Palhares is out cold! Arishok dropped down on all fours and is barking in Palhares's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Zevran Arishok!
