PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jax Kutts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Beattie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jax Kutts is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jax Kutts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Beattie!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kutts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beattie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Beattie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Kutts rushes Beattie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kutts prevents the takedown attempt.
Beattie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kutts fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Beattie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kutts.
Beattie shoots in looking for a takedown but Kutts manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beattie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jax Kutts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Beattie.
Beattie slaps away a takedown attempt from Kutts, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kutts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Beattie, pushing him back against the cage.
Kutts is looking to control Beattie's arms but Beattie gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kutts has his back to the cage.

Kutts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kutts wants to stand and escape but Beattie is having none of it.
Beattie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kutts swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kutts wants to sweep here but Beattie controlling him for the moment.

Beattie throws a strike but Kutts rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beattie has a closed guard, preventing Kutts from standing up.

Kutts gets to his feet. Beattie looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kutts drives through and clinches with Beattie against the cage.
Kutts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Beattie prevents it.

Kutts tries to clinch up.
Kutts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beattie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kutts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beattie tries to avoid it but Kutts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beattie to the ground. Beattie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kutts.

Beattie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kutts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beattie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kutts wants to stand but Beattie is controlling the position.

Kutts had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beattie defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beattie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jax Kutts dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Beattie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kutts pushes Beattie off and gets back to his feet.
Kutts tries to clinch there but Beattie circles away.
An inside leg kick from Beattie misses.
Kutts tries to clinch up but Beattie circles away and keeps his distance.
Kutts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kutts closes the distance and clinches up with Beattie, looking for a takedown. Kutts pushes Beattie against the cage but Beattie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kutts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beattie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Kutts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kutts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beattie tries to avoid it but Kutts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beattie to the ground. Beattie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Beattie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kutts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kutts tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Beattie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Beattie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kutts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beattie defends well.

Beattie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beattie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jason Beattie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kutts looks to clinch

and Beattie counters with a single leg into guard. Kutts didn't expect that.

Kutts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Beattie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kutts is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Beattie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kutts sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beattie somewhat.

Beattie is pressed up against the cage. Kutts has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beattie down to the mat. Beattie avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kutts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beattie is fending him off so far but Kutts persists. Nope, Beattie circles away and we're back to standing.
Kutts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beattie defends it nicely.
