PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bambang Suryanto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Anders.
Suryanto takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Anders lands a nice looking body kick.
Anders throws a right hand that Suryanto ducks under and follows up with a left that Suryanto also avoids with ease.
Anders throws a nice head kick!
Anders lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suryanto circles away quickly and effectively.
Suryanto dives in and grabs Anders's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anders pushes down on Suryanto's head and hops out.

Suryanto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Anders avoids it really well and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Anders.
Anders goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Suryanto on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anders throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Suryanto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anders as he avoids it easily.
Aaron Anders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bambang Suryanto.
Anders rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Suryanto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Anders lunges at Suryanto with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Suryanto's hand.

A nice inside leg kick there by Anders. That's going to slow Suryanto down.
Suryanto looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Suryanto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Suryanto is trying desperately to land a takedown but Anders is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Suryanto.
Anders throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anders scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Anders stuffs the takedown attempt from Suryanto. Suryanto gets slowly back to his feet.
Anders keeps Suryanto at a distance using the push kick.

Suryanto gets the takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Suryanto stalls from top position.
Let's hope that Suryanto has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anders is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Anders tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Suryanto controlling the pace for now.
Anders stops Suryanto from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Anders is trying to escape the mount but Suryanto keeps good control and instead manages to take Anders's back.

Suryanto is cranking Anders's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Anders! He's tightened the choke and Anders is tapping out!
