3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luis Chalas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Humphrey! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.

Humphrey with a lazy takedown attempt and Chalas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Humphrey is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Humphrey swings for the body but Chalas moves out of range.
Humphrey moves into the clinch successfully.
Chalas is trying to trip Humphrey. He has hold of a leg but Humphrey is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chalas persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Humphrey working for a triangle but Chalas defends it easily.
Chalas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Humphrey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Humphrey has escaped and now he's on top! Humphrey loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Chalas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Humphrey defends well. Humphrey trying to control but Chalas is working from the bottom. Chalas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Humphrey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chalas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Humphrey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chalas throws his legs up looking for a submission but Humphrey uses it to pass to side control.

Humphrey has knee on belly and moves into mount. Humphrey working Chalas over with strikes here. Humphrey prevents Chalas from getting the reversal. Chalas is breathing heavily. Chalas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Humphrey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. This has been an exciting period of action! Chalas stopping the sweep attempt from Humphrey. Chalas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Humphrey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Humphrey is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Chalas rolls with it to try and escape but Humphrey cranks on the arm and Chalas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
