Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ric Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Steel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ric Flair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Steel! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flair misses with a low kick.
Steel shoots in but no luck this time. A head kick from Flair lands but Steel takes it in his stride. Steel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Flair to the ground. Steel is now in Flair's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Flair is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Flair trying to control the position.
Steel wants to pass the guard but Flair is keeping the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steel wants to control from the top but Flair keeps moving. Steel preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flair is keeping the position for now. Flair not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A big right from Flair misses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Steel is defended easily by Flair. Steel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Flair! Steel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Flair manages to avoid the submission attempt. Steel working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Steel has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Flair! Steel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Flair has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Flair! Steel keeping moving, preventing Flair from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Steel wants to sweep but no luck. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Steel has control of Flair's left arm, preventing Flair from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ric Flair has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Flair misses with a head kick.
Steel fails with a takedown attempt. Ric Flair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Steel. Flair tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steel. Horrible takedown by Steel or perhaps it was just good defense by Flair which made him look bad. Flair shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Flair misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Flair wants to clinch. Flair misses with an uppercut. Steel saw that one coming. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Steel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Flair back to the cage. Steel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Flair connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flair defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Steel. Steel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Flair avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ric Flair will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Flair on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Flair keeps Steel at a distance using the push kick. Steel on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Flair. Flair obviously looking to wear him down.
Flair tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range. Ric Flair is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Steel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Flair is trying to defend but Steel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Steel trying to control from half guard but Flair is working away. Flair controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Steel wants to pass the guard but Flair is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flair tries to land a sweep but no joy. Steel wants to pass the guard but Flair is keeping the position. Steel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Steel was stalling too much, according to the referee. Steel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flair as he avoids it easily. A good leg kick by Flair. Steel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flair swivels and escapes. Flair turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Steel is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flair lands with a kick to the ribs.
Flair scoring well with a low kick there.
Steel swats away the attempt to clinch by Flair. Flair throws a nice inside leg kick. Flair tries to clinch but Steel is having none of it. Flair finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Flair fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Steel. Flair looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Flair backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Steel's temple! It sends Steel violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Flair celebrates and the doctors try to help Steel!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Ric Flair! As Ric Flair got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Hernando, my shoes are worth more than your house!!! Now you currently have something that belongs to me... that's right the gold baby.... that strap needs to be round the waist of a REAL MAN.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'.
