Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy McFadden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rig Dig! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dig doesn't succeed with the takedown and McFadden counters with a takedown into side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. McFadden in side control lands a decent elbow. McFadden creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dig sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McFadden tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. McFadden is working Dig over with some ground and pound from side control. Dig wants to control but McFadden postures up. Dig takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dig is rocked!
It looks like Rig Dig has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McFadden scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Dig is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and McFadden can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andy McFadden! After the fight, Andy McFadden was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
