Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Baratheon! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baratheon looks to throw the jab but Anderson is out of range. Baratheon misses with a lunging right hand
and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Baratheon won't be happy with that. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baratheon keeps working. Anderson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Anderson lands a decent elbow from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Anderson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Baratheon managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Anderson.
Anderson tries to move to mount but Baratheon blocks the move with his legs. Anderson lands a nice forearm strike. Anderson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Anderson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baratheon is looking to regain half guard here but Anderson keeps moving and retains side control. Baratheon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson lands some shots froms side control. Anderson advances to mount. Anderson loads up with a big shot that hurts Baratheon! He's pulled Anderson in close but Anderson has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Baratheon survive? More strikes from Anderson and Baratheon is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Aaron Anderson! After the fight, Aaron Anderson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
