Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dax MaCauley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Rodgers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodgers has chosen Guns N' Roses - You Could Be Mine as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dax MaCauley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MaCauley tries to clinch but Rodgers moves out of range.
MaCauley throws a right and a left that Rodgers avoids nicely.
Rodgers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodgers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
MaCauley misses with a jab, cross combination.
MaCauley moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Rodgers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodgers slips under a jab from MaCauley.
MaCauley tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rodgers counters with a nice double leg into side control. MaCauley won't be happy with that.

Rodgers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but MaCauley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Rodgers counters with a nice double leg into side control. MaCauley won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rodgers advances to mount.

Rodgers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
MaCauley is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Rodgers unloads with some shots from mount but MaCauley bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodgers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rodgers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as MaCauley is looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
MaCauley is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Rodgers landing strikes, looking to finish!

Rodgers unloads with some shots from mount but MaCauley bucks and avoids them well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MaCauley wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
MaCauley is breathing heavily.
Rodgers content just to control the position here.

MaCauley defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rodgers.

Rodgers stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rodgers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
MaCauley closes the distance but Rodgers moves to the side

and Rodgers counters with a shoot takedown. MaCauley fights it but they end up in guard.
Rodgers trying to control but MaCauley is working from the bottom.
Rodgers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
MaCauley is wriggling around but Rodgers manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodgers stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows MaCauley to get to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rodgers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rodgers clinches.
Rodgers lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Rodgers breaks the clinch.
Rodgers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rodgers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dax MaCauley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodgers misses with a head kick.
Rodgers closes this distance looking for a takedown but MaCauley circles away.
MaCauley tries to clinch but Rodgers moves away
and Rodgers counters with a stiff right hand.
MaCauley lands a with a good body shot.
Rodgers is looking to land body kicks.

Dax MaCauley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

With the fighters up against the cage, MaCauley throws an elbow but misses.

Rodgers wriggles free and stands up.

Rodgers managing to block the knees to the body from MaCauley.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, MaCauley just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rodgers's brow.

Rodgers manages to break the clinch.
A low kick from MaCauley is predictable there

and Rodgers counters by moving into the clinch.

Rodgers manages to break the clinch.
Rodgers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
MaCauley wants to clinch
and Rodgers counters with a head kick.
MaCauley keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Dax MaCauley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
MaCauley tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rodgers counters by moving into the clinch.

Rodgers jumps guard.
MaCauley wants to stand but Rodgers is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rodgers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in MaCauley's guard.

Rodgers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rodgers shoots for a double leg takedown but MaCauley sprawls well. He's pushed Rodgers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dax MaCauley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Rodgers.

Rodgers clinches.

Rodgers drags the fight down to the ground.
MaCauley wanted to stand there but Rodgers had control of the position.
MaCauley wants to stand and escape but instead Rodgers has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Rodgers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Rodgers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rodgers trying to keep a closed guard but MaCauley is proving a slippery customer.

Rodgers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rodgers scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Rodgers forces MaCauley back against the cage and clinches.
MaCauley throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Rodgers pulls guard successfully.
Rodgers managing to control the position.

Rodgers wriggles free and stands up.

Rodgers moves into range and clinches up with MaCauley.

Rodgers breaks the clinch.
MaCauley wants to clinch but Rodgers slips to the side

and Rodgers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rodgers not doing much here.

Rodgers is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, MaCauley has managed to free his arm - good work.

Rodgers wants to pass to mount but MaCauley is defending the position.
Rodgers with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Rodgers seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. MaCauley is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
