The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belhanda jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Belhanda counters with a single leg into guard. Bute didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Belhanda connects with a nice short shot to Bute's temple.
Belhanda frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Belhanda has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bute's face.

Belhanda lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Bute is bucking up trying to escape but Belhanda cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The cut above Lucian Bute's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Belhanda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Belhanda's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
