Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daryl Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Gannicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daryl Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Gannicus!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon moves forwards but Gannicus connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dixon pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gannicus is out of range and Dixon settles back down.
Gannicus throws a nice looking combination but Dixon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gannicus lands with a hook. Dixon tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gannicus scores with a jab.
Dixon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dixon dodges the punch combination from Gannicus.
Dixon tries to score with a low kick but Gannicus moves his leg out of the way.
Gannicus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gannicus throws a hook to the side of Dixon's head but Dixon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Gannicus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dixon.

Dustin Gannicus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dixon drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dixon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dixon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gannicus's guard.

Gannicus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dixon misses with a looping right.
Dixon throws a push kick but Gannicus slaps the foot to one side.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Dixon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gannicus sprawls well initially but Dixon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gannicus is not content to let Dixon control the position.
Gannicus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dixon.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gannicus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dixon loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gannicus scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Dixon land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Dixon stands and salutes the crowd.
