The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Imer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Imer wants to advance to full mount but Caparas doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Caparas is pulling down on Imer's head. It's preventing any offense from Imer, at least for the moment.

Imer seems to be working for a kimura but Caparas defends the submission attempt.
Imer is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Imer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Caparas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Imer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Caparas throws the kick towards the body but Imer avoids it.

Imer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Caparas stacks Imer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Caparas!

You can see the frustration on Imer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Danilo Caparas will probably get the nod.

Well Imer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
