Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genius Ree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Woods has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Woods seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genius Ree! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ree clinches up against the cage. Ree decides to pull guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Woods passes Ree's left leg - he's now in half guard. Woods thows a huge punch but Ree dodges it nicely.
Woods throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Woods content to control rather than advance. Woods takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Woods lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Woods trying to control the pace. Ree trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ree with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Woods decides to stand and escape the position. Genius Ree seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ree avoids the body shot from Woods.
Woods instigates a clinch. Woods ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Woods no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Woods trying to keep a closed guard but Ree is proving a slippery customer.
Ree is looking to stand up but Woods won't let him. Woods wants to sweep but no luck. Ree being controlled here momentarily. Ree really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woods. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ree trying to control the position from guard on top but Woods is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ree throws a nice head kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ree misses with a head kick.
Woods tries to keep at a distance but Ree has taken the fight into the clinch. Woods taking a breather. Woods pulls guard effortlessly. Ree wants to stand but Woods has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Woods manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ree manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Woods wants to control but Ree is keeping him busy. Ree tries to get back to half guard but can't. Woods looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ree is avoiding damage well.
Woods fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Ree's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Woods trying to control the position but Ree is working away. Woods stands up. Ree will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ree looks gassed! Woods pushing out the jab but it's not landing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ree blocks a head kick by Woods.
Ree gets in close and instigates a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Woods dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice sprawl there from Woods as Ree shoots in. Woods staying out of range there. Woods throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ree was covering up waiting for the punch and Woods finishes the takedown easily into guard. Woods slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Woods trying to control but Ree is working from the bottom. Woods stands and throws Ree's legs to the side, diving into side control. Woods trying to control the position but Ree is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods decides to stand back up. Ree looks for the body kick but Woods saw that one coming. Ree drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ree is breathing heavily. Woods working a defensive guard here.
Woods has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ree doesn't defend quickly enough and Woods has managed to lock this one up! Can Ree escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Woods on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Woods!
