Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Riccio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riccio has chosen Shotgun by Limp Bizkit as his entrance music. Rico Riccio is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Mott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rico Riccio! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riccio fails to land the takedown. Riccio shoots and misses and Mott counters with a left to the body. Riccio has his takedown stuffed and Mott counters with a nice leg kick. John Mott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Riccio. Mott scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Riccio has a hand on Mott's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mott takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Mott scoring with strikes but Riccio is staying in there. Mott breaks from Riccio's wrist control and lands an elbow. BOOM! Mott connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mott blocks Riccio's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Riccio working to try and regain half guard.
Mott looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Riccio throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Riccio can do anything to dispel that myth. Riccio throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Mott unloading with bombs! Mott landing shots from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mott with a couple of short strikes. Mott is landing with some decent strikes but Riccio is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Riccio is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Riccio throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. The referee warns Riccio that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Riccio is rocked! Riccio takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mott's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Mott! John Mott decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
