Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mister Twister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phil Dunphy!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dunphy has Twister up against the cage in a clinch.

Dunphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dunphy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Twister.

Dunphy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Twister did well to prevent Dunphy getting side control.
Dunphy tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Twister is looking for a sweep. Dunphy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Twister gets full guard.
Dunphy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dunphy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Twister is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Twister has momentary wrist control but Dunphy slips an elbow through the middle.
Dunphy is stalling in the full guard.
Dunphy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Phil Dunphy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Twister misses with a looping left.
Twister takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Twister shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunphy tries to sprawl out of it but Twister keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunphy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dunphy clinches with his opponent.

Dunphy lands a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Twister escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dunphy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Twister is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dunphy defends well.

Twister is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Twister is on top in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Twister being controlled here momentarily.
Dunphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Twister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dunphy keeping full guard, as Twister tries to pass.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Twister tries to free his leg and advance position but Dunphy is retaining full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Phil Dunphy wasn't active enough on the ground.

Dunphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Twister bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mister Twister dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Twister doesn't manage to clinch there - Dunphy circles away.

Dunphy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Twister to the ground. Dunphy is now in Twister's guard.

Twister is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Dunphy has his hands clasped together but Twister extends an breaks Dunphy's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Twister.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mister Twister!
