Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marco Kolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gui Bonelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kolo comes to the cage accompanied by As I Lay Dying - This Is Who We Are. Gui Bonelli struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 147.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Marco Kolo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Kolo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gui Bonelli!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kolo clinches.

Kolo has Bonelli pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kolo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bonelli tumbling to the mat - Kolo dives into Bonelli's guard.
Bonelli lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kolo!
Bonelli trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kolo wants to hold on but Bonelli pushes him away.
Bonelli looking to control but Kolo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kolo is trying to escape the mount.

Bonelli jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kolo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kolo and Bonelli has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kolo tries to improve position but can't.
Bonelli wants to control but Kolo is keeping him busy.

Kolo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kolo gets back to half guard.

Bonelli is looking for a kimura here.

Bonelli is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kolo is trying to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kolo looks to land a body kick but Bonelli moved away.
Bonelli uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kolo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kolo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kolo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kolo lands a big elbow.

Bonelli tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bonelli is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kolo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bonelli on the ground.
Bonelli looks gassed!

Kolo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bonelli is bucking up trying to escape but Kolo cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kolo tries to control but Bonelli wriggling away.
Kolo prevents Bonelli from getting the reversal.
Kolo lands a nice shot to the head.
Bonelli is squirming around, avoiding Kolo's attempts to control the action.
Kolo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bonelli is trying desperately to improve position.

Kolo looking for a guillotine from mount but Bonelli is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bonelli is working to get back to half guard.
Bonelli is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kolo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Kolo trying to control but Bonelli is having none of it.

Kolo has control of Bonelli's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bonelli regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bonelli is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marco Kolo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Kolo scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bonelli shoots and misses
and Kolo counters with a nice body kick.
Kolo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kolo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Bonelli is rocked!


It looks like Gui Bonelli has been cut.
Crack! A monster head kick from Kolo and Bonelli falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Kolo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marco Kolo!
