Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Shumanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lev Tolstoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tolstoy has chosen AWOLNATION - SAIL as his entrance music. Shumanov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Vladimir Shumanov has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Tolstoy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shumanov to score an easy takedown into full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Tolstoy wants to sweep but no luck. Tolstoy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Tolstoy trying to control the position here.

Shumanov scores a takedown into full mount! Shumanov is breathing heavily. Shumanov trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Shumanov goes for an armbar but Tolstoy turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tolstoy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shumanov keeping moving, preventing Tolstoy from controlling successfully. Tolstoy stands and throws Shumanov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tolstoy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shumanov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tolstoy working the ground and pound.

Tolstoy is trying to get an arm triangle but Shumanov is defending well. Shumanov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tolstoy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shumanov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tolstoy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Tolstoy creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Tolstoy has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shumanov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tolstoy yanks on the arm and Shumanov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tolstoy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lev Tolstoy! A relieved looking Lev Tolstoy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
