Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rich Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Boddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rich Silva has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rich Silva seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rich Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Boddy! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but Boddy keeps him there for the moment. Boddy tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Boddy drops back down to his feet.
Silva pulls guard. Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Boddy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva is controlling Boddy's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boddy stopping the sweep attempt from Silva. Silva has control of Boddy's left arm, preventing Boddy from doing any damage. Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy. Silva throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boddy postures up.
Boddy is fighting to break Silva's control of his arms but Silva is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Silva is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Boddy dives into side control.
Boddy wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Silva struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boddy gets to mount! Silva was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Boddy tries to control but Silva wriggling away. Boddy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Silva is desperately trying to improve his position but Boddy has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Boddy is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.
Boddy prevents Silva from getting the reversal. Silva tries to hold on but Boddy pushes him away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Boddy looking to control and managing it successfully. Boddy wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rich Silva will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Silva drives through and clinches with Boddy against the cage.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boddy tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Boddy fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Boddy keeps the fight on the outside. Silva moves into range and clinches up with Boddy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Boddy pushes him off. Silva thows a left - swing and a miss! Silva tries to clinch up. Silva instigates a clinch. Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Silva pulls guard. Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Boddy is proving a slippery customer.
Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boddy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Silva looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Boddy passes into half guard.
Silva is trying to maintain the position but Boddy is very close to passing his half guard. Boddy is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva missing with punches from the bottom.
Boddy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Boddy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Silva dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Boddy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Boddy controlling the position easily from mount. Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Silva tries to lock up and control but Boddy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Boddy trying to control but Silva is having none of it. Silva tries to lock up and control but Boddy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boddy sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Silva has given up his back here.
Boddy has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Silva's body.
Boddy has his opponent's back but Silva is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Boddy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silva showed some decent athleticism there. Boddy gets full guard. Boddy pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage. Boddy is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Despite being in the dominant position, John Boddy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva tries to clinch there but Boddy circles away.
Silva lands a jab to the head.
Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Boddy gets back to full guard.
Boddy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boddy stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position. Silva working a defensive guard but Boddy passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Boddy. I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
