Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joao Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Young Soo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Costa comes to the ring accompanied by The Coasters - Down In Mexico. Young Soo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A Countryboy can survive. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kim Young Soo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joao Costa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kim Young Soo! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa gets a takedown into half guard. Young Soo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Costa pulls his head out easily. Costa is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Young Soo reverses the position - he's now on top in Costa's guard. Costa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Young Soo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Young Soo drops back looking for a leg! Costa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Costa manages to kick Young Soo off! Young Soo jumps back into Costa's guard. Costa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Young Soo passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Costa looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Costa keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are battling for position here. Costa manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Young Soo stays in close to Costa's body and controls the position. Costa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Young Soo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Costa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Young Soo scoring with some ground and pound. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Young Soo wants to stand but Costa is controlling his posture from full guard. Young Soo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Costa has his foot on Young Soo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Young Soo works his way back into a safe position though. Costa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Costa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Young Soo circles away. Young Soo clinches up against the ropes. Costa looking to slow down the pace here. Young Soo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Costa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young Soo as he avoids it easily. Costa fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Young Soo has Costa up against the ropes in a clinch.
Young Soo has clasped his hands together around Costa's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Costa is looking for a sweep. Young Soo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Costa keeps working. Costa regains half guard. Costa regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kim Young Soo will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Costa clinches but Young Soo breaks the clinch and Young Soo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Costa tries for a takedown but Young Soo circles away easily and Young Soo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Costa's guard. Young Soo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Young Soo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Costa is just riding it out for now. Young Soo eventually gives up the hold. Costa manages to get to full guard.

Costa looking to finish Young Soo with some ground and pound. This is bad for Young Soo! Costa wants to finish this one by submission but Young Soo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Costa. Young Soo has left one of his arms exposed and Costa doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Young Soo screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
