The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mantegna misses with a few strikes there.
Malek tries a head kick but it misses.
Malek stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A slapping leg kick lands for Malek.
A head kick misses from Malek.
Mantegna swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mantegna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A big right from Mantegna misses.
The fighters circling - Mantegna throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mantegna looks to score with a jab to the body but Malek is just out of range.
Malek buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mantegna gets cracked there but stands up to it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malek lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Malek scores with a spinning back kick!
Mantegna looks gassed!
Malek misses the shot to the body.
Tony Mantegna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Malek lands a glancing blow to the side of Mantegna's head.

Mantegna is rocked!
Mantegna switches off momentarily and Malek cracks him with a monster right hand! Mantegna topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Malek dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Malek!

After the fight, Jai Malek was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
