Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connor Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loco Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newman comes into the arena with Flashing Lights by Kanye West blaring out of the sound system. Loco Sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loco Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping leg kick lands for Newman.
Newman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sanchez drives through with a takedown into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Newman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sanchez! Sanchez tries to reverse the position but Newman maintains control. Sanchez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Sanchez regains half guard. Newman wants to take a breather but Sanchez is having none of it. Newman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sanchez holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Newman not doing much here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sanchez is doing well to control the position and prevent Newman from advancing to side control. Sanchez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Newman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sanchez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Newman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Connor Newman. Newman scores with a takedown into Sanchez's guard. Newman content to stall in guard here. Newman trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanchez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sanchez wants it to stay on the feet. Newman misses with a takedown attempt - Sanchez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sanchez shoots in and gets a takedown into Newman's guard. Loco Sanchez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Newman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Newman off to one side. That's one minute gone in the round. Newman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sanchez counters with a nice low kick that buckles Newman's knee momentarily. Connor Newman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Newman misses with a takedown and Sanchez counters with a solid body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sanchez gets a takedown into half guard. Sanchez drops an elbow to the side of Newman's head. Sanchez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Newman is trying to control but can't.

Sanchez looking to control but Newman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Newman gets back to half guard. Sanchez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sanchez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Newman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Newman fails in his attempt to clinch. Newman pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Newman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Newman is pressing down on Sanchez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Newman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Newman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez is looking to stand up but Newman won't let him. Newman seems keen to control Sanchez's posture. Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Newman is retaining full guard. Sanchez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Newman tries for a takedown but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sanchez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Newman on his heels. He'll look to pass Newman's guard now, I'm sure.

Sanchez is looking to advance position but Newman won't allow it. Sanchez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Newman wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy.
Newman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sanchez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Newman is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
And that's the end of the fight! Loco Sanchez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sanchez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
