Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Jolley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machine has chosen Stupid KId as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ray Machine acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jolley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Machine!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine scores with a nice head shot.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Machine scores with a takedown into Jolley's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Jolley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jolley controls Machine momentarily but Machine frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machine throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jolley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jolley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Machine defends well.
Machine won't allow Jolley to sweep him here.

Jolley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machine is aware though and is defending well.
Machine controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Machine passes Jolley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jolley wants to get back to full guard.
Machine throwing shots but Jolley is blocking nicely.
Machine moves into full mount! Jolley won't be happy about that!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machine controlling the position easily from mount.
Machine tries to control but Jolley wriggling away.

Machine lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jolley hang on?
Machine is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jolley can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Machine is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jolley to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jolley shrugs it off.
Jolley sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Machine postures up in Jolley's guard and throws a big left but Jolley blocks it.

Machine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jolley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machine has managed to get both his arms back between Jolley's legs - danger averted.
Machine is working Jolley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Machine stands and throws Jolley's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jolley tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Machine is looking to take a break and control but Jolley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jolley wants to control but Machine postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Machine moves into the clinch.

Jolley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Machine is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jolley to the mat. Jolley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Machine avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Machine drops back looking for a leg! Jolley is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jolley manages to kick Machine off! Machine jumps back into Jolley's guard.
Machine wants to control from the top but Jolley keeps moving.
Machine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jolley is keeping the position for now.

Machine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jolley defends it well.
Jolley wants to control but Machine is keeping busy.
Jolley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Machine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jolley wants to sweep here but Machine controlling him for the moment.
Machine makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Jolley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jolley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machine is aware though and is defending well.

Jolley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Machine gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Machine might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jolley kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Machine takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ray Machine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Machine throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Machine scores with a jab to the body.
Jolley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machine manages to avoid it.
Jolley throws a sloppy body shot
and Machine counters with a straight right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jolley, as that shot connected.
Jolley leaves Machine with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jolley ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Machine goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jolley throws a body punch but Machine moves out of range.
Jolley misses with a two punch combination.
Machine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jolley just misses with a punch to the body.
Jolley slips under a jab from Machine.
James Jolley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jolley misses with a lunging right hand
and Jolley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jolley walks into a jab.
Machine throws a body punch but Jolley moves out of range.

Jolley takes a swing at Machine's ribcage but misses.
Jolley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Machine but Machine pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jolley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Machine avoids it really well and circles away.
Machine digs a good body shot into Jolley's ribs.
Machine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jolley was well out of range. Poor timing from Machine.

Machine throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jolley.

Jolley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Machine is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jolley, into his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jolley has his foot on Machine's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machine works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Machine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
