Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick van Greeven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Quik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think van Greeven might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tom Waits - Telephone call from Istanbul. The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Greeven circles away from the clinch attempt
and van Greeven counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
van Greeven uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Quik.
Quik stuffs the takedown attempt from van Greeven. van Greeven gets slowly back to his feet.
Quik throws a sloppy head kick and van Greeven moves out of range easily.
Quik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
van Greeven uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Quik has time to react.
Quik tries to clinch there but van Greeven circles away.
Quik feints and as van Greeven raises his hands in defense, Quik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
van Greeven trying to keep a closed guard but Quik is proving a slippery customer.
Quik throwing strikes but missing.
Quik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
van Greeven is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Quik wants to control from the top but van Greeven keeps moving.

Quik postures up in van Greeven's guard and throws a big left but van Greeven blocks it.
van Greeven is trying to keep Quik in close.
Quik lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
van Greeven keeping moving, preventing Quik from controlling successfully.
van Greeven has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Quik doesn't defend quickly enough and van Greeven has managed to lock this one up! Can Quik escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to van Greeven on a fantastic submission victory.
