PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wolfgang Van Beethoven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goodnight Irene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Van Beethoven might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Beethoven-Symphony 7. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irene fails in his attempt to clinch.
Van Beethoven fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Irene has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Van Beethoven .
Irene walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Goodnight Irene has been cut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Van Beethoven tries to land a body kick
and Irene counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Van Beethoven ducks under a wild hook from Irene.
Van Beethoven cracks Irene with a good jab.
Irene takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Van Beethoven scores with a body shot.
Irene looks winded!
Van Beethoven wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Van Beethoven lands a right hook to the body.

Van Beethoven will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Van Beethoven misses with a low kick as Irene jumps back.
Van Beethoven looks for the body kick but Irene saw that one coming.
Irene moves out of range as Van Beethoven throws a body kick.
Irene scores with a shot to the body.
Irene takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Van Beethoven connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Irene shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Van Beethoven is looking to wear down Irene with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Beethoven throws a shot to the body.
Irene drops his hands momentarily and Van Beethoven takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That has opened up Goodnight Irene's cut even more.

Van Beethoven feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Irene's calf.
Irene tries to move into range but Van Beethoven moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A clash of legs there as Irene blocks the low kick.
Irene's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Van Beethoven connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Irene scrambles back to his feet.
Van Beethoven lands a slapping body shot.
Van Beethoven scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

The cut above Goodnight Irene's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Van Beethoven lands a head shot.

Goodnight Irene's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Van Beethoven is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Van Beethoven cracks Irene with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Irene looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Van Beethoven finish him?

Irene is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Goodnight Irene's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Wolfgang Van Beethoven !
