The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hussein as he jumps to the side.

so Hussein counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Souza is looking for a triangle but Hussein pushes his legs off easily.

Souza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hussein keeps working.
Souza looks up at the clock and then as Hussein takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Souza smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Souza seems to be working for a kimura but Hussein defends the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souza working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hussein is rocked!
Hussein is trying to maintain the position but Souza is very close to passing his half guard.
Hussein is looking for a sweep. Souza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Souza scores with a big shot! Hussein's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Hussein! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
