Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Methuselah Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Painkiller - Judas Priest. Couture comes into a darkened arena with his song building. wait, nvmnd! thats just the tapping of his cane as he walks. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Methuselah Couture will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Alex Rios has been cut.
Couture tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rios counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Couture thinking.
Couture with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Couture shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rios napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Couture sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rios is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Couture can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rios is looking to escape.

I really don't envy Rios right now.
Couture is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rios defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Couture has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rios's body.
Rios turns into Couture and is now in his guard.
Rios postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture is pulling down on Rios's head. It's preventing any offense from Rios, at least for the moment.

Couture scores with a hook to the body. Rios takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Rios works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Rios throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Coutures head.
Rios throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Couture blocks it with crossed arms.
Couture lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Rios digs a right hand into Couture's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Couture's gas tank.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Methuselah Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rios throws the left hand but Couture avoids the punch easily.
Rios swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rios on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rios checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

and Rios counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Couture has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Rios throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Rios pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Couture misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Couture tries to get into range but Rios steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Couture! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Rios scores the big KO victory!
