The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rizzo throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rizzo wants to land a leg kick but Ares is out of range.
Rizzo with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Ares steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rizzo. That one must have hurt.
Ares looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rizzo scores with a nice body kick.
Semmy Rizzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Rizzo.
Rizzo lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Solomon Ares has been cut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ares crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rizzo - the referee stops the clock and Ares gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rizzo. Ares manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rizzo lands a leg kick that knocks Ares off balance momentarily.
Rizzo lands a right hook to the body.
Rizzo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rizzo tests Ares's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rizzo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ares takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nice body punch from Rizzo.
Rizzo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rizzo drops Ares with a big left hand and mounts him. Ares is in big trouble!
Ares is rocked!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rizzo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Ares badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Rizzo around the waist but Rizzo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Rizzo is the winner by TKO! Rizzo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Semmy Rizzo!
An out of breath Semmy Rizzo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
