The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Recksun with a poor takedown
and Hanayama cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Recksun has Hanayama up against the cage in a clinch.

Recksun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hanayama shoots in and bounces Recksun off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hanayama missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanayama's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

It looks like Hugh Recksun has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Recksun pushes Hanayama off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hanayama throws a body punch but Recksun moves out of range.
Hanayama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

That has opened up Hugh Recksun's cut even more.
Recksun throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hanayama misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hanayama connects with a body shot that sends Recksun's belly button to the back.
Hanayama fails with the takedown.

Hanayama closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Recksun did well to prevent Hanayama getting side control.
Hanayama not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Recksun trying to hold on to Hanayama's head to control him but Hanayama postures up.
Hanayama not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hanayama scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Hanayama thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hugh Recksun's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
