Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Randelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Larenzo Moritini! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Randelin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moritini.
Randelin tries a head kick but it misses.
No joy there for Moritini, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Moritini swats away the attempt to clinch by Randelin. Moritini is looking to clinch. Randelin throws a head kick that misses. Randelin closes the distance looking to clinch and Moritini moves into the clinch. Moritini tries for a takedown but Randelin manages to get underhooks.
Moritini wants to take the fight to the mat but Randelin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Randelin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Randelin is trying to break free. Randelin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Randelin wants to clinch. Randelin throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Larenzo Moritini has been cut. Moritini shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Randelin napping and manages to drive through into side control! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Randelin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Randelin pushes Moritini away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Moritini gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Moritini working the ground and pound. Randelin is looking to get back to his feet here but Moritini is keeping cool and he's managed to take Randelin's back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moritini controls the position. Randelin is trying to defend against the choke here but Moritini has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Moritini Tightens the hold and Randelin taps out furiously! Moritini displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Larenzo Moritini! After winning the bout, Larenzo Moritini thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
