Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mad Mike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samu Sand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mad Mike has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mad Mike! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Samu Sand! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mike pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mike throws a sloppy head kick and Sand counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mike's guard now. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Sand wants to control from the top but Mike keeps moving. Mike controls Sand momentarily but Sand frees himself. Sand is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mike is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sand is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sand throwing strikes but missing. Sand is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sand trying to control but Mike is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sand gets tackled into the ropes by Mike. Mike maintains the clinch. Sand unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sand manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mike won't allow Sand to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sand is pulling down on Mike's head. It's preventing any offense from Mike, at least for the moment. Mike trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mike is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. This has been an exciting period of action! Sand is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sand is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mike is aware though and is defending well. Mike tries to free his leg and advance position but Sand is retaining full guard. Mike throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sand works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mike is looking to advance position but Sand has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Sand controlling from mount. Sand connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sand prevents Mike from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samu Sand dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Mike has managed to clinch.
Sand throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sand fails to pull guard.
Mike is trying to push Sand away but Sand has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Sand pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mad Mike seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sand shoots for a takedown but Mike saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mike. Mad Mike is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mike throws a sloppy head kick and Sand moves out of range easily. Sand shoots in for a takedown but Mike shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mad Mike has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samu Sand. Mike fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mike pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mike avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sand stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sand wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sand shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mike manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mike is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sand is controlling him. Mike is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sand is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mike on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mike tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Samu Sand wasn't active enough on the ground. A low kick from Mike is predictable there and Sand counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Mike jumps guard but Sand turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing. Mike gets underhooks to prevent Sand's takedown attempt.
Sand is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mike blocks an elbow strike from Sand.
Mike misses with a hook to the ribs.
The referee calls for Sand to work.
Sand is looking to take this one to the mat. Sand keeps control of Mike as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sand landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Mike looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mike tries to pull guard but Sand holds him up against the ropes and eventually Mike drops back down to his feet.
Sand tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mike is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mike wants to take the fight to the mat but Sand manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Sand is trying to drag Mike to the mat but Mike just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Sand is breathing heavily. Sand ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sand no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Sand lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mike! Mike is looking to get to half guard. Sand controlling from mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mike can't escape the position.
Mike is squirming around, avoiding Sand's attempts to control the action. Sand prevents Mike from getting the reversal. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mike is trying to stand. Sand thowing shots but they're missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samu Sand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Mike lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Mike has closed the distance and engaged Sand in a clinch.
Mike tries to break the clinch but Sand is controlling the position. Mike is trying to break the clinch but Sand has him pressed against the ropes. Mike tries to circle away but Sand has him pinned against the ropes. Sand keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mike's efforts to push away. Sand goes for a takedown attempt but Mike pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mike swats away the attempt to clinch by Sand. Mike drives through and clinches with Sand against the ropes.
That's one minute gone in the round. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Mike tries to pull guard but Sand forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. Mike is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Sand lands an elbow inside. Sand escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sand doesn't manage to clinch there - Mike circles away.
Mike fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Mike. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mike lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sand will feel that in the morning. Sand throws an overhand right that lands on Mike's shoulder, as Mike tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sand darts in and clinches Mike up against the ropes. Sand breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mike clinches with his opponent.
Sand just leaning against Mike, taking a breather. Sand is trying to pull guard but Mike turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Mike is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Mike tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sand smiles and moves away.
Mike gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sand to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sand preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mike is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Samu Sand is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Samu Sand has got the better of the ground game so far. Sand throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sand is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sand fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mike shoots in but no luck this time. No luck for Mike with that takedown attempt. Sand shoots in for a takedown but Mike shows good takedown defense. Mike darts in and clinches Sand up against the ropes. Mike is looking to control Sand's arms but Sand gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mike has his back to the ropes. Sand is defending well against a takedown attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mike tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sand just stands there and leans against the ropes. Mike is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Sand to keep the fight standing. Mad Mike has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sand leaning his opponent against the ropes.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mad Mike. I think Sand has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
